Registry Lock for Your Domains

Lock your domain name with registry-lock by applying the following EPP status codes: serverUpdateProhibited, serverDeleteProhibited, and serverTransferProhibited.

Registry-lock is a security service that we offer free of charge for all .se domains. It ensures that the domain cannot be transferred to another registrar and that name server changes cannot be made. In most cases, you do not need to activate this service, but if you know that no changes should be made, it might be a good idea to activate registry-lock. Follow these steps to protect your domain name with us.

Enable registry lock

Step 1: Log in to the customer portal

  • Customer Portal: Visit our customer portal and log in with your login credentials.

Step 2: Choose your domain

  • Choose Domain Name: Once logged in, go to “Domains” in the main menu and select the domain name you want to enable registry lock on.
  • Registrar Lock: Click on “Registrar Lock” in the middle of the screen.

Step 3: Complete the activation

  • Verify Everything is Working: On the next page, you can complete the activation of the registry lock. It is important to ensure that everything is working properly with the domain before you activate the registry lock.
  • Activate Registry Lock: Once you have verified that your domain is functioning well and have read through the instructions, complete the activation by selecting “On” and then clicking “Save Changes.”

Deactivate registry-lock

  • Open a Support Ticket: Deactivating the registry lock is a manual process that may take time. You can request us to deactivate it by contacting us and specifying which domain it concerns.
  • Wait Up to 5 Days: As the registrar, we will log in to the Internet Foundation’s website and authorize ourselves with 2FA to unlock your domain for changes. Once this is completed, we will respond to your ticket with a confirmation that the domain protection has been removed.
