Automate your domain sales: we are launching an official WHMCS module for resellers!

Many of our customers use WHMCS to bill their own customers. Jumping between WHMCS and Hostup’s control panel to register or renew a domain is an unnecessary step.

With our new integration you connect your WHMCS directly to our API. When your customer buys a domain from you, it is registered with us automatically – entirely in the background.

What can the module do?

We have focused on the features that matter most day to day. With the module, you and your customers can:

  • Register, transfer and renew domains, plus all the basics: Everything happens automatically through the API.
  • Manage DNS: Add and change A, AAAA, MX, CNAME and TXT records right inside WHMCS (perfect if you use our white-label nameservers ns1.wdns.se and ns2.wdns.se).
  • Get EPP codes: Let your customers fetch their own transfer codes (auth codes).

Built for the Swedish market (.se and .nu)

One detail we put extra care into is the handling of organisation numbers and Swedish personal identity numbers. Many international modules miss this. Since we focus on .se and .nu, we made sure the module handles the extra fields these top-level domains require. That means fewer error messages and less manual work.

For example, other modules make you enter the organisation number as [SE]559290-1325. Here you simply enter 559290-1325.

The white-label DNS also sits behind Cloudflare, so your customers get a fast connection from day one.

Fully open source

We believe in transparency. That is why we have published the whole module on GitHub. It is free to download and free to use, and you are welcome to read the code.

Good to know: The module does not currently support “Registrar Lock” (locking and unlocking a domain) from inside WHMCS. That is because .se and .nu cannot automate that step.

Getting started

Installation is simple:

  1. Download the files from our GitHub.
  2. Upload the hostupreseller folder to /modules/registrars/ in your WHMCS installation.
  3. Activate the module in the WHMCS admin area and paste in your API key from us. You create the API key at cloud.hostup.se/api-management.
